One of the project core output is the CARBONOFF 4.0 toolkit conceived to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in addressing the challenges of carbon management and contributing to the broader European objective of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. The toolkit responds to the growing demand for accessible, practical tools that allow businesses — particularly those without internal environmental expertise — to begin quantifying and reducing their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The main goal of the CARBONOFF 4.0 toolkit is to raise awareness about company-related emission sources and provide a user-friendly method for estimating the carbon footprint of organizational activities. It empowers SMEs to take their first steps towards environmental sustainability by offering intuitive and simplified functionalities that do not require advanced technical knowledge. Through guided data entry, automatic emission calculations, and visual feedback on results, the toolkit helps identify key emission sources (“hotspots”) and encourages evidence-based decisions on priority actions for carbon reduction.
